Design and SAR Analysis of AMC-Based Fabric Antenna for Body-Centric Communication

This study designed and analyzed an artificial magnetic conductor (AMC)-based fabric antenna for body-centric communication. The was made of felt had a loss tangent 0.044 relative permittivity 1.3. proposed built to function in the frequency band centered at 2.45 GHz, widely used wireless communication devices. antenna’s performance evaluated using electromagnetic simulation software CST MWS. A 50 Ω SubMiniature version connector excite antenna. 2 × AMC array integrated into below it improve its terms radiation efficiency, gain, backward reduction. were fabricated on flexible substrates. total volume AMC-integrated is 0.55λ 0 0.016λ . It demonstrated that adding enhanced properties significantly decreased back lobes. on- off-body maximum gains are (≥ 4.11 dBi) 5.23 dBi, respectively. Furthermore, employing array, significant reduction specific absorption rate value, which (≤ 0.43 W/kg) human body tissue chest/back 0.75 arm, obtained, ensuring safety use. simulated measured results agreement. tested efficiencies GHz (>67%) (>83%), can potentially be various applications such as healthcare monitoring, wearable electronics, Internet Things (IoT) systems, where reliable efficient required environment.
